Brother inlaw seen some one today stop and all the snow flew forward coving the windscreen
I can confirm how dangerous it is. In the 80s when I had my first car, it snowed heavily and froze on roof. I drove away with heater on and about 5 miles down the road needed to slow down for a roundabout. When I braked from about 40mph, all the snow came forward onto the windscreen obliterating my vision. Only thing I could do was an emergency stop - just lucky the cars behind didn't run into me. That was the one and only time I've ever driven with a significant amount of snow on the roof.
It sounds silly fining people, but it can be extremely dangerous.
hmmm when u put it like that! FINE THE BASTARDS! LOL!
Was told by a copper today, I went to ask him the truth about this (he was sat in mc d`s car park with a burger and fries) and he said they will pull over and fine those that have shown no signs of trying to clear snow from thier vehicles, becaue its dangerous driving, due to the fact that they have reduced visability, and people cannot see thier lights (brake and indicators). But he did say this was nothing new, and has always been the case...Code:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/road-and-rail-transport/6984693/Woman-who-drove-with-snow-covered-windscreen-prompts-police-warning.html
which I believe they should. Whilst out today I saw 2 cars where all that was clear was where the wipers had been, and the 2 front windows, they had not even bothered to clear the back! and lights were visible, not I think thts just sheer stupidity.....

The fact anybody thinks it's a non issue shows how little snow the UK gets.
Of course if you know how to drive all the snow ends up on the guy tailgating you -)
Quick fix for this.
Get car hot inside, drive on a good surface and not one covered in ice and hit the brakes hard, watch the snow shoot off your roof in about .5 of a second.
And last thing, remeber to check there is no one behind you when you do this.

I am sure the Scottish Police have nothing better do than look for cars with snow on the roof!
Just total nonsense.
haven't the cops got nothin better to do than have u for minor issues i wouldnt trust them as far as i could throw them and i probably coundnt pick them up. they should be doin somthink about proper offences.
Never see a Police Patrol round these parts of Lincolnshire,...sometimes those pretend ones called PCSO's.
All part of the ridiculous UK Nanny State syndrome - just like closed schools, roads, etc etc!
Never missed school/work in 1947 OR 1963 - look how sad we are nowadays?
Now car rooves - have they really nothing better to do?
one day u will be fined just for driving your car
